As a Tucson photographer, I’m inspired by Shazieh Gorji’s artistry at Agave Pantry. Combining her skills in pottery and baking, Shazieh creates handcrafted ceramics and organic, non-GMO baked goods that bring beauty and mindfulness to everyday life. Her passion for sustainable practices and attention to detail result in unique offerings like infused salts, sugars, spice blends, and desserts. Shazieh’s work reflects the artistry and connection that make Tucson’s creative community thrive.
Shazieh welcomed me into her outdoor and indoor home studio and shared with me her process of working with clay through every phase of creation. I observed the speed and ease with which she exerted over the clay as she skillfully manipulated it to form her unique pieces. I love allowing the action of my subjects to inform how I capture them in photos and Shazieh made it easy to focus on the intricate parts of her process and capture powerful portraits in her work space.
