Having a camera has been a passport to meeting new people and getting an up-close look at the special places they invite me to. Cynthia founded &gallery originally on 4th avenue, opening her doors to local artists and creatives. There it remained a welcoming space for Tucsonans to interact with eclectic art pieces and support their creators before she changed locations in 2024. I’ll never forget peering into the window of the gallery the first time I came across it, thinking how wonderful it was that someone was working so hard to hold space for artists and their creations. Over the years she hosted gallery viewings and events, helping add to the community of 4th avenue and its variety of businesses.
Cynthia welcomed me into the latest iteration of &gallery south 6th avenue, just before she was embarking on a new journey in her life. Her space offered me a lot of inspiration and spoke volumes about Cynthia and her talents as a curator and tastemaker of local arts.
