Gabe’s Child Portrait Session on 4th Avenue in Tucson, Arizona
Taking photos of children can be both a fun experience and exercise in patience. Attention and enthusiasm are both hard to sustain over an hour session and I try not to push on much longer than that as attention spans tend to dwindle. Gabe was such a pleasure to work with and was quite the little ham for the camera. We met towards the south end of 4th Avenue near downtown and went to work quickly on the great blue tile wall and pillars in front of the Goodwill storefront. After some time snapping photos with Gabe and his mom Amanda, it was clear Gabe was getting tuckered out and if we wanted to keep this session going we were going to have to take measures to continue on.
Chocolate ice cream cones were just the treat to renew Gabe’s interest in our session and when taking photos of children, I find it best to let kids be kids. No need to wipe off that big chocolate ice cream grin. I was more than happy to take photos of Gabe enjoying himself as we sat on the benches tucked away on the side patio of Bumsted’s.
