DeGrazia Gallery Engagement Session with Tucson Wedding Photographer Justin Haugen
There is one thing that really gets me excited and that’s shooting in a location I’ve never photographed at before. When Victoria told me that Mark had proposed to her at DeGrazia Gallery in the Sun, she had no idea how much I love this gallery and the history in its walls. Without hesitation I called the gallery and a nice man named Jim told me we had full clearance to come and conduct an engagement session there.
On the day of the shoot, I met with Victoria and Mark inside the gallery. I quickly learned that flash photography was forbidden. Luckily, I came prepared with an LED video light. If you follow my work, you know I lean heavily on Off-Camera Flash technique to add a little OOMPH to my images. I figured the flash photography was a no go, and with the help of a friend assisting, I was able to get some great photos with a continuous light source.
After an hour the gallery closed and we made our way outside to the chapel on the property where Mark proposed to Victoria. It was here I had free reign to make use of my flashes and my favorite MagMod speedlight modifiers. Please take a look at the images below. I hope these photos inspire you to take a visit to the gallery to see Ted DeGrazia’s artwork and to learn about his story.
