Athena and Nathan’s Wedding at the Hotel Congress in Tucson, Arizona
Athena started her day with her bridesmaids in one of the hotel rooms, preparing for the ceremony held in the Copper Hall. A nervous Nathan was pacing the lobby with his groomsmen, and I could see how excited he was to see Athena as she walked down the aisle with her father. Athena and Nathan touched the hearts of all their guests with a very memorable reciting of vows. Of all the weddings I’ve photographed, their exchange of vows stood out the most. I could really feel their love as they embarked on the union of their lives together. After a quick formal photo session they rejoined their guests in the Copper Hall for the reception and the rest is history.
There are a few locations in Tucson that are near and dear to my heart. I love Hotel Congress. It’s one of the first sights to greet you as you enter the downtown corridor on Congress. The glowing sign on the rooftop is a favorite among visitors and couples always want a signature photo in front of the iconic signage. I’ve photographed couples in front of the sign more times than I can count and I always try to photograph it differently from previous trips to the roof top. I like to think I provided a unique offering compared to my previous efforts with the photos we captured. Next time I photograph a wedding at Hotel Congress, I’ll have to work harder to achieve a different look!
Thank you to all the staff at Hotel Congress for their hard work in making Athena and Nathan’s wedding a night to remember.
